A big thank you to you all

with over £6,200 raised

Circumstances surrounding Covid-19 in the last 18 months have meant our annual charity event had to be postponed in 2020, so this year we thought we should make up for it by taking part in the most daring challenge yet!

To raise funds, 15 employees took part in a tandem skydive on Monday 23rd of August. Between the 15 of us we agreed to sponsor 4 charities; Jackson’s Animal Rescue, who rescue and re-home domestic animals and rehabilitate wildlife; Macmillan Cancer Support who offer emotional, physical and financial support to people living with cancer; Greyhound Gap who rehabilitate and re-home Greyhounds and Lurchers, and the Whitchurch Food Bank, who work to end hunger in their local community.

The weather was almost perfect on the day and meant views from the aircraft were breath taking. Views spanned across the whole of the Wirral, Liverpool, Cheshire, Snowdon and beyond. The climb to ten thousand feet took around 20 minutes, which was either enough time to calm our nerves, or enough time to realise we were about to jump out of a plane!

The free-fall, at approx-imately 120 mph, was exhilarating to say the least and lasted around 40 seconds. Our parachutes opened at 5,000 feet and we floated gently to the ground, taking in the amazing views.

Most importantly, we have raised over £6,200 for our four deserving charities.

ATL would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part on the day for all their hard work, to everyone who sponsored our teams and to friends and family who came to cheer us on.
