Light & Flavourful BBQ Turkey Skewers

Light, flavourful and perfectly grilled, these turkey kebabs prove that healthy summer barbeques can be just as satisfying as the classics!

Perfect for warm-weather entertaining, this summer recipe combines the wholesome goodness of lean turkey breast with the vibrant flavours of seasonal vegetables. Naturally low in calories and rich in high quality protein, they offer a lighter alternative whilst still delivering exceptional taste. This recipe is simple to prepare, quick to assemble and ideal for outdoor grilling. The carefully balanced seasoning ensures each kebab is tender, juicy and full of flavour!

Ingredients

For the marinade:

  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

  • ½ Medium Lemon (juice only)
  • 2 Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • ½ Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ Teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano

For the skewers:

  • 500g Diced Turkey
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper (large)
  • 1 Yellow Red Bell Pepper (large)
  • 1 Onion (medium)

Instructions 

  1. Place the marinade ingredients in a bowl that is large enough to hold all the meat. Give it a stir and add in the turkey chunks. Use your hands or a spoon to coat the meat with marinade. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours (or overnight).
  2. Cut the peppers and onion into chunks (similar size to the meat, if possible) and thread them as well as the turkey chunks onto the skewers (meat + pepper + onion + meat, etc).
  3. Grill on medium to high heat for 10-15 minutes or until the meat is cooked through.
